Motorization

Control light and privacy with a simple click. LEVOLOR® motorization uses the “Favourite” feature to set up to 3 shading groups to a preferred position.

  • A single window shading can be in a group of its own or be put into multiple groups. Up to 3 groups can be programmed.
  • Operate multiple shades simultaneously or individually.
  • The ALL button is used to select all programmed groups for simultaneous operation.
  • Tilt vanes open and closed, and lift the shadings using the remote control.
  • Perfect for large or hard-to-reach windows.
  • Absence of dangling cords means added safety for children and pets.

Power Source Options

Standard Battery Pack

The standard power source with the Sheer Shading motorized operating system. It fits most inside, outside, or side mount installations. The battery pack allows batteries to be changed without removing the window covering from the window. 12 AA 1.5V alkaline batteries are included with initial order. Battery life is approximately one year, depending on usage. Replace batteries when the window covering(s) begin to operate slowly.

Satellite Battery Pack

An optional power source that allows the battery pack to be mounted on the top of a headrail, next to molding or under the sill. It is the best choice when the window covering is mounted in a high window, restricting access to the battery pack. Must be selected at time of order. Available in 4 wire lengths: 15 inches, 4 feet, 10 feet, 20 feet. Satellite battery pack cover can be painted. 12 AA 1.5V alkaline batteries are included with initial order. Battery life is approximately one year, depending on usage. Replace batteries when the window covering(s) begin to operate slowly.

Remote Control Overview

GROUPS

  1. Joining a window covering to a GROUP is what connects a window covering to an individual remote and allows the remote to communicate with the window covering, so the window covering will follow the remote commands. A window covering will not operate with the remote unless it is assigned to a GROUP.
  2. Each LEVOLOR® remote offers 3 GROUP assignments, designated by buttons numbered 1, 2, and 3 on the remote.
  3. A GROUP can consist of a single window covering or be comprised of multiple window coverings assigned to that particular GROUP button. Window coverings assigned to the same GROUP will operate at the same time when functions are selected on the remote. There is no limit to the number of window coverings you can assign to a given GROUP. If you want a window covering to operate independently of other window coverings, it must be added to a GROUP of its own. A window covering can be added to more than one GROUP on the same remote (or separate remotes). Once the window coverings have been joined to a GROUP, the remote will operate your window covering.

FAVOURITES

  1. Setting FAVOURITE(S) stores a preferred position for each individual window covering, and recalls the stored position when the FAVOURITES button is selected. (Favourites button is designated by the heart ♥ symbol.) Each window covering can have ONLY ONE FAVOURITE position. Upon arrival, each of your window coverings will be set to the default FAVOURITE position, which is half way down with vanes closed. You can re-program each shade to your FAVOURITE position.

NOTE: The FAVOURITE position for a given window covering is stored in the window covering itself. The favourite position is always the same regardless of which GROUP or GROUPS the window covering is assigned to or which remote you use. If you set a FAVOURITE with one remote on one shade and then overwrite it with another FAVOURITE position with a different remote, you will only have the FAVOURITE as set by the last remote. From now on, any remotes programmed to that shade will trigger the same FAVOURITE position.

To operate the shade using the remote control

  1. Press the GROUP button and then the desired function. You can operate more than one group at a time by pushing multiple GROUP buttons and then pushing desired function. (As an example, you could press GROUP buttons 1 & 3 in succession and then select the function OPEN, and all window coverings assigned to GROUPS 1 & 3 will open.) You can also press the ALL button and then select the function, and all shades assigned to all GROUPS will perform the function you selected.
  2. To operate the window covering using the FAVOURITE function, press the GROUP button and then select the FAVOURITES button. You can also select multiple GROUP buttons and then press the FAVOURITES button, or you can press ALL and then press the FAVOURITE button.

To operate the window covering using the FAVOURITE function

  1. Press the GROUP button and then select the FAVOURITES button. You can also select multiple GROUP buttons, and then press the FAVOURITES button, or you can press ALL and then press the FAVOURITE button.

    MEASURE HEIGHT

Overall Shade Height - Measure to the nearest 1/8 in. from where top of shade will be located to top of sill, or measure to point of shade reach if no sill.

NOTE:

  • Available in continuous cord loop and retractable cord operating systems.
  • Order the left shade first when placing the order.
  • Each shade operates separately.
  • There will be a 3/8 in. gap between the fabric on the left and right shades to operate independently.
  • For standard shades, controls will be located on the left side of the left shade and the right side of the right shade.
  • The left shade width plus the right shade width must equal the overall shade width.*
  • Fabrics cannot be seamed or overlapped.
  • Always use a metal tape measure as cloth may stretch.
  • Take all measurements to the nearest 1/8 in. DO NOT take any deductions. The factory will make the necessary adjustments to help ensure your shadings operate smoothly.

*WIDTH CRITICAL DIMENSIONS

  • The panels of fabric for a 2-on-1 shade can be equal widths or varying widths.
  • The smallest panel width is 12 in. and maximum panel width is 108 in. with the overall size not to exceed 120 in.
  • If you choose to do two different size panels of fabric, the width of the smaller panel needs to be a minimum of 1/4 the width of the overall width.
  • Overall width of shade ÷ 4 = the smallest panel must be greater than or equal to this value.
  • Example: If you order a shade with an overall width of 80 in. the smaller panel must be at least 20 in.

NOTE: Take all measurements to the nearest 1/8 in. DO NOT take any deductions. The factory will make the necessary adjustments to help ensure your shadings operate smoothly.

Magnetic Hold Down Brackets

Magnetically secures bottom rail, when shade is in the down position.

Step 1A

Mark the bracket locations - outside mount installation (installation outside window casing)

  • Measure headrail width.
  • End brackets should be approximately 2"-3" in from each end of the headrail. Space additional brackets evenly between the two end brackets and mark their location. Mount into wood whenever possible.
NOTE:Ensure that bracket placement will not interfere with any components inside the headrail.
  • With a pencil, mark the mounting screw locations through the rear holes of the bracket, 2 per bracket. Use a level to ensure bracket alignment.
  • Go to Step 1B.

Step 1B

Install the brackets - outside mount installation (installation outside window casing)

  • Using pencil marks as a guide, start the screw hole by pre-drilling (wood and metal mounting surfaces only).
NOTE: A minimum 1-1/8" flat vertical surface is required for the installation brackets. Extension brackets require 1-1/4".
  • Hold bracket with surface marked "top" facing up. Holding bracket in place, secure with screws, 2 per bracket.
  • Repeat for each bracket.
  • Use a level to confirm brackets are level.

Example: Installation on drywall using drywall anchors and included screws.

Step 2A

  • Verify that window casing has a minimum depth of 1"
  • End brackets should be approximately 2"-3" in from each end of the headrail. Space additional brackets evenly between the two end brackets and mark their location. Mount into wood whenever possible.
  • If flush mount is desired, place the bracket 3-1/4" back from the inside top of the window frame.
  • With a pencil, mark the drill hole locations through the tip holes of the bracket, 2 per bracket.
  • Go to step 2B

Step 2B

Install the brackets - inside mount installation (installation inside window casing)

  • Using pencil marks as a guide, start the screw hole by pre-drilling (wood and metal mounting surfaces only).
  • Hold bracket with surface marked "top" facing up. Holding bracket in place, secure with screws, 2 per bracket.
  • Repeat for each bracket.
  • Use a level to confirm brackets are level.

Example: Installation on a wood window frame using the included screws.

Step 3A

Install shade on brackets

  • Position the shading so that the front faces you.
  • Slide the headrail into the installation brackets so the edge of the headrail is between the lever and the bracket, as shown.
  • Firmly push the headrail into each bracket until it clicks and the lever snaps to the right side of the bracket.
  • IMPORTANT: Carefully pull on the headrail at each bracket to ensure it is installed securely.

Cleaning and Care

Cleaning Procedures

Sheer Shadings are made of 100% polyester, which means they are inherently durable and resilient. However, care must be taken to avoid wrinkling the fabric, particularly where the vanes meet the facings.

Dusting - Regular light dusting with a feather duster is all the cleaning that is needed in most circumstances.

Vacuuming - Use a low suction, hand-held vacuum for more thorough dust removal.

Forced Air - Blow away dirt and debris between the vanes using clean compressed air.

Spot-Cleaning - Do NOT spot-clean sheer shadings.

Ultrasonic Cleaning

Sheer Shadings can be ultrasonically cleaned by a professional with the exception of light-dimming fabrics.

• Specify that a mild detergent solution be used.

• Never immerse the headrail in the solution.

• Dry the shading completely in the lowered position.

Injection/Extraction

Sheer Shadings can be professionally cleaned using the injection/extraction method.

• A dry method of injection/extraction is required for light-dimming fabrics.

• Never immerse the headrail in the solution.

Electrostatic Cleaning

Do not use electrostatic cleaning wipes on any sheer shadings.

A Note About Fabrics

As with all textiles, Sheer Shading fabrics are subject to some variations. Slight wrinkling, puckering, or bowing is inherent to this textile product and should be considered normal, acceptable quality. These characteristics are not usually visible from the front or rear but may be visible from a side angle.

Precautions should be taken to reduce exposure to harsh environmental elements, such as salt air. Continuous exposure through open windows and doors will accelerate the fabric deterioration.

NOTE: Improper cleaning may void warranty.
